Using traditional marbling techniques, cool greys and silver metallics create interconnected circular motifs reminiscent of craters, lunar cycles, and microscopic cellular structures. As its name suggests, Lunaris draws inspiration from the moon’s topography. Its evolving, microcosmic shapes give the pattern a living, organic quality, as if frozen in time, evoking the subtle interconnection of all things.
For Lunaris, as well as Wabi and Night, Calico collaborated with Dieu Donné, a renowned studio dedicated to contemporary paper-making. Together they experimented with materials and techniques to create some of the largest marbled papers ever produced, translating these intricate, large-scale designs into unique wallpapers.
